One of the highlights of the program of the 1st IBP will certainly be the Symposium on Poetry Critics, coordinated by the poet and professor Sylvia Cyntrão. She is a member of the post-graduation program of the Dept. of Literature of the UnB – University of Brasília. The symposium will provide during 3 day an open reflexion about the situation of the poet and poetry nowadays.
The symposium’s aim is to act in the context of the midwest of Brazil in general. Invited especialists from all five regions of Brazil will joing the coordination and the discussions that will take place in 11 Thematic Tables.
These 11 Tables will help verify the general latest aspects of poetry, new trends, concepts, old issues and new variations. “The intention is to promote contacts between different esthetic insights”, says Sylvia Cyntrão.
She coordinates a post-graduation Rearch Group on Contemporary Poetry at UnB, and will present the recital At stage with Affonso Romano, in honour of the poet and literature professor born in Minas Gerais, actually living in Rio de Janeiro.
